In 2019, the La Sierra Model United Nations (LASMUN) was founded at La Sierra International School under the visionary leadership of Miss Paulina Jaramillo. This marked a pivotal moment, laying the foundation for a tradition of excellence and global engagement among students. With the guidance of María Castillo and Andrea Orozco, LASMUN has provided a platform for students to engage in critical discourse and diplomatic debates within committees such as the Security Council, DISEC, UNICEF, and SOCHUM. 

In 2023, LASMUN's second edition was a true testament to the power of commitment and curiosity. Led by Professor Jose Domínguez, the event welcomed over 30 participants from various institutions, and more than 40 internal delegates, expanding its horizons and introducing innovative committees such as the Crisis Committee, FIFA, and Senado. With Isabel DiazGranados and Mariana Sojo at the helm as Secretary Generals, and Alejandra Arzuza orchestrating as the General Coordinator, LASMUN II embodied the spirit of unity and collaboration. This event not only wrote the future but also showcased the potential that can be achieved through collective effort and a shared vision. The baton was then passed to a new generation of leaders, who have not only embraced the legacy of their predecessors but have also paved the way for the future of LASMUN. Their contributions have been instrumental in shaping the third iteration of LASMUN, promising an even brighter future for this esteemed event.

The journey from its inception to its current stature is a testament to the relentless spirit of our students, the visionary leadership of our faculty, and the collaborative ethos of our community. LASMUN is more than just a model; it is a microcosm of hope, diplomacy, and the unyielding belief for a better tomorrow.
