Anime @ LAMS

Kaiden & Caemeron re-started our LAMS Anime Club this 2nd semester, on Friday, Feb. 8th. Thanks gentlemen.

And then we met again the following Monday during their 7th grade lunch. We continued watching Studio Ghibli and Hayao Miyazaki's original story, "Porco Rosso", as borrowed from our local Mesa Library.

Kaiden & Caemeron will be completing the request (proposal) for this new Anime Club.

All Hawk students are welcome, even if you are not too familiar with this Japanese animated artform (and storytelling style). Please join us and check it out.

Come by Mr. Bonzon's room 259 (computer lab 2) for a lunch pass to get your cafeteria lunch quickly and return. We have a microwave in our Anime classroom thanks to another club that meets there.

Starting with an info meeting Friday, Nov.17th in Mr. Bonzon's room 259, Computer Lab 2, only during 7th grade lunch (5th period), until a possible 8th grade lunch teacher room is offered.

We've first watched "Whisper of the Heart" by Studio Ghibli.

Michelle & Tora encouraged us to go to Con-Jikan (Anime Convention) in Albuquerque in December. Thanks you two.

Hopeful activities an community involvement for our LAMS Anime Group:

To make meaningful, cross-supportive relationships/partnerships...
- with our LA public libraries and their anime group meetings
- with anime and animated movie debuts and showings at our local LA Reel Deal movie theater
- with Santa Fe and Albuquerque anime expos and comic conventions (two: both December and January ones), as a promo and support, possibly help monitor their anime viewing rooms and discussions, volunteer support; possibly cos-play too (students in costumes of their favorite anime characters).
Enjoy, have fun learning Japanese culture and language. Hopefully those who want to visit Japan may get to there. Or live or work there. How fun would that be?!
Create favorites lists to share with others unaware of the anime stories out there. Some possible examples are: "Why we like anime?" List. "How is anime unique and different from other cultures and countries?" List.
Encourage appreciation of drawing and storytelling.
