Getting a Learner's Permit in Kentucky

n Kentucky, teens become eligible to apply for a learner’s permit at age 15. To take the written permit test, a guardian must accompany the student to the testing site with the following required documents:

• Social Security Card

• State-certified copy of the Birth Certificate

• School Compliance Verification Form

How to request a School Compliance Verification Form

To avoid delays, students should email Mrs. Price at least one week before the intended test date to request the School Compliance Verification Form.

Important Notes:

• Mrs. Price will review attendance and grades from the most recently completed semester before issuing the form.

• If testing during summer break, email before school ends and include the date you plan to take the test.

• Completed forms will be placed in the front office or the pick-up box outside the school.

No Pass/No Drive Law

Students who receive their permit must remain compliant with Kentucky’s "No Pass/No Drive" law. Failure to meet academic or attendance standards may result in the suspension of the permit.

⚠️ Students age 18 or older are not required to submit a School Compliance Verification Form.
