Our Public Safety Program Advisory Committee! Our committee brings together a diverse and experienced team of professionals dedicated to shaping the next generation of public safety leaders. Our esteemed members include:

SBSO Deputy Julian Mata – A seasoned law enforcement officer who offers valuable insights into police operations and community safety.
PE Instructor Todd Lagergren – An advocate for physical fitness and wellness, contributing to our emphasis on maintaining health and resilience.
CrossFit Instructor Jeff Spots – A fitness expert who supports our commitment to functional fitness and the physical demands of public safety work.
Command Sergeant Major/Retired CHP Officer Timothy McCoy – A retired Command Sergeant Major and former California Highway Patrol officer, who lends his extensive military and law enforcement background.
Staff Sergeant Amy McCoy – A Staff Sergeant whose experience enriches our understanding of discipline, structure, and resilience.
With the support of these dedicated professionals, we ensure our program remains aligned with real-world demands and continues to inspire future public safety professionals.
Our ACE Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) actively manages community relations through a cohesive network of social media and interpersonal connections, fostering strong engagement within our community. The CTSO promotes its activities via multiple social media platforms, which are updated weekly to keep the community informed and involved. Additionally, we utilize our school’s public announcement (PA) system to reach our peers with information on ongoing and upcoming events.
Our community service projects are designed to benefit our local community and beyond. We have established meaningful partnerships with organizations such as the Victor Valley College Fire Academy, Loma Linda Pediatric Treatment Facility, Barstow Community College and more partnerships are underway.
Beyond our Advisory Committee, many industry partners are involved with our program. We collaborate closely with agencies such as the San Bernardino County Fire Department and Sheriff's Department, benefiting from their donations and support. Our partnerships extend to the use of Victor Valley College’s facilities, as well as collaborations with Mercy Air and Reach Helicopter Services, the United States Marine Corps and Air Force, Apple Valley Fire Department, Apple Valley School District, and a series of charitable drives held throughout the school year.
To maintain and expand industry participation in our CTSO, we plan to continue organizing community drives and events that serve our surrounding communities. We remain committed to keeping these communities informed and engaged through regular updates via our school’s PA system and our social media presence.
Students, school staff, and members of our Leadership class, together with our community partners, united in an inspiring effort to collect a substantial number of toys for children undergoing cancer treatment. This collaborative initiative reflects the dedication of our school representatives and the compassion of our community, as we work together to bring joy and support to these young patients during their challenging journeys.
