A comprehensive process to prepare students for career transition is in place. Students are given co-curricular and extra-curricular opportunities that support career goals. Students are supported and recognized by staff.
In the first year, students are introduced to various sectors within the law and public safety field, including law enforcement, criminal justice, emergency management, and legal studies. Students learn soft skills such as public speaking, interviewing, writing resumes, cover letters, letters of interest, and completing a job application.
During the second year, students begin to consider long-term career goals and outline the steps needed to pursue them. They research colleges and universities with programs in law and public safety and are encouraged to take Advanced Placement (AP) courses in government, psychology, or statistics, which provide a strong academic foundation for future studies.
In their final year, students prepare for post-secondary pathways by researching admissions requirements and application timelines for law and public safety programs. They are encouraged to take the PSAT or SAT for college readiness and to continue developing leadership skills by taking on roles such as student ambassador or engaging in student government. Students are also encouraged to further their hands-on experience through internships or volunteer work in their field of interest.
This structured approach provides students with a comprehensive understanding of law and public safety careers, equipping them with the skills and experiences needed for future success.

ACE WASC advances and validates quality ongoing school improvement by supporting its private and public elementary, secondary, and postsecondary member institutions to engage in a rigorous and relevant self-evaluation and peer review process that focuses on student learning.
A significant portion of our enrolled students are actively involved in SkillsUSA and HOSA, with participation encouraged to support professional growth and skill development. In exceptional cases, this requirement may be waived upon submission of a valid justification.
ACE students regularly engage in SkillsUSA Regional, State, and National Leadership and Skills Conferences, demonstrating commitment to personal and professional development through competitive and leadership events.
Our student leaders also participate in at least one leadership event or activity outside of state conferences each year, further expanding their leadership capabilities and community engagement.
In recognition of excellence, the ACE SkillsUSA chapter earned the prestigious Silver Level status in the SkillsUSA Chapter Excellence Program in 2023. Additionally, our chapter consistently applies for the Chapter of Excellence Program each year, showcasing our dedication to maintaining high standards of achievement and program quality.
Our program provides students with a comprehensive awareness of career opportunities available within the community, actively preparing them for future careers through real-world learning experiences. Students engage in work-based learning, job shadowing, and internship opportunities, equipping them with hands-on skills and industry insights. These experiences have been consistently available to our students over the past several years, reinforcing our commitment to career readiness.
Collaboration between our Leadership Pathway (LPS) teacher and Work-Based Learning (WBL) Coordinator ensures that training plans are carefully tailored and that students are matched with mentors who support their development and growth. Additionally, we enhance classroom learning with guest speakers from various industries and through field trips that give students an up-close look at their fields of interest.
Occupational readiness is central to our mission, and we achieve this through specialized, career-focused curricula. Courses such as Emergency Medical Response, Fire Science, Sports Medicine, Crime Scene Investigation, and Criminal Justice offer students practical training, preparing them to enter and succeed in high-demand fields.
We are proud to offer a broad range of elective courses alongside core academic classes, all of which emphasize real-world applications. Through these offerings, students develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and essential career-readiness training. Our Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathway courses, in particular, provide invaluable hands-on experiences that bridge the gap between classroom learning and practical, real-world application.
Our Academy proudly celebrates student achievements and encourages excellence through various recognition programs. We honor outstanding students with Student of the Month awards, recognizing individuals who demonstrate exemplary performance, leadership, and dedication to their studies.
In addition to monthly recognitions, students have the opportunity to join esteemed national honor societies if they meet qualification standards, including:
• National Technical Honor Society (NTHS): For students who excel in Career and Technical Education pathways, representing dedication to skill development and academic achievement.
• National Honor Society for Sports Medicine (NHSSM): For students with an outstanding commitment to sports medicine, demonstrating both academic excellence and a passion for health sciences.
Many of our students are also active participants in SkillsUSA and HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America), where they excel in state and national competitions. Their achievements include:
