A Snapshot of Art an Langley Park this week

Reception pupils have been exploring the book 'Giraffes can't dance'. The children have worked collaboratively to build a junk model of Gerald.

Year 1 pupils have been inquiring into seasonal changes and the weather. The children have worked collaboratively to create a colourful rainbow and seasonal pictures as well representing the story 'Leafman' in individual, creative ways.

Year 2 pupils have been exploring colour mixing and working on mixing primary colours gradually to create different shades of a secondary colour. We really enjoyed seeing the gradual change and this helped the children to understand colour mixing a lot better.

Year 3 pupils have been inquiring into the environment and how it can be expressed through art . The children have all thoroughly enjoyed creating dioramas and sculptures to share their learning.

Year 4 pupils have been busy exploring inventions and how they have influenced people over time. The children have been busy learning how to use micro bits and are working towards applying this knowledge to create an invention using a mini circuit. Stay tuned for the next art update for pictures!

Year 5 pupils have been looking at the work of Zarina Hashim. The children created their own paper and have used this paper to recreate a piece of Zarina Hashim's work 'Under a Dark Sky,' which is about a migrant longing for home.

Year 6 pupils have been exploring the perception and use of light and how it has changed through the ages.

The children used various mediums to create some artwork.
