All About French Phonics

This week, teachers had their own French lesson from Mr Dearsley, who is the Curriculum Advisor for Languages in Leigh Academies Trust. He taught us all about the differences between speech sounds in French and English, and definitely challenged us to build on our existing knowledge!

It is as important for students of French in primary school to learn French phonics as it is for them to learn English phonics. As in English, phonics helps us to develop skills in speaking, reading and writing.

Over the next few weeks, teachers will be trying out some of the fun activities Mr Dearsley introduced us to in their French lessons. We hope the children enjoy them as much as we did!
