This week in Journalism Club, pupils shared stories about special women in their lives that they are grateful for in honour of Mother's Day. The children also interviewed some staff members at the academy, who are mothers, to discover what their perfect day would look like.
What is the best gift to get your mum?
"The best gift to give my mum would be flowers and a homemade card that I would make by myself, with homemade coffee as well."
"For me, the best gift to give my mum is breakfast in bed!"
"For me, Mother's day is on the 4th May. I get my mum something nice off of Amazon. One year I got her a fancy perfume. This year I might make her a homemade card."
Miss Parakh - "My children give me bracelets and necklaces"
Mrs Hales: "We go out for lunch and watch a film. I don't mind what gift they get me, I just like spending time with them"
Miss Murrell: "I don't have any children but I'll be celebrating with my Mum and sister, who I admire greatly. They're both amazing mums and women"
Mrs Silva: "Spending time with my partner and child. If possible, with my Mum and Grandma, in May. In Portugal, Mothers Day is celebrated in May instead of March".
