Maidstone Libraries are once again running the Summer Reading Challenge this year and there are many free activities taking place over the summer holiday break.
Please find below information regarding the challenge events that your child can get involved in. The QR code on these documents will take you to the Kent Directory which shows all events happening in Kent over the summer.
You can find out more about the Summer Reading Challenge by visiting https://summerreadingchallenge.org.uk/. Your child(ren) can take part through their local library or even online, earning rewards, playing games and achieving badges as they read, encouraging them to read for fun during the long summer break.
The Summer Reading Challenge is open to all children aged 4 to 11 and is available at libraries across the UK. Younger children (under 4) can also participate in a smaller version of the challenge with their own booklet and stickers; the "Mini Challenge".
This year's "Story Garden" theme focuses on storytelling and the outdoors. Children are challenged to read six or more books (or the equivalent if participating online) and collect rewards along the way.
Completing the Summer Reading Challenge earns your child(ren) a certificate and a medal.
