The acquisition of donated, new computing equipment (e.g. mobile PCs, desktop PCs, printers, etc.) requires approval by the Fremont #1 Technology Department to ensure usability and compatibility with the District’s technology environment. Contact the Technology Office for more detail.
The District cannot and does not accept any donations of used equipment.
Used equipment generally does not provide the capability of running modern applications and subscription, but placing a heavy burden in cost and staff time on the District to keep equipment operating. In most cases, these costs far exceeds the original value of the acquisition. Also, by accepting this less-than-useful equipment, the District becomes liable for the proper disposal of equipment.
