The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act was revised in 2004. The primary purpose of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act is to ensure that all children with disabilities receive a free appropriate public education, including special education and related services that are "designed to meet their unique needs. An assessment is provided to parents of children with potential need to see if they meet the eligibility requirements for assistance in accessing their education. The Early Childhood Special Education team understand the importance of early intervention and are committed to providing a quality educational program for our little learners that need extra support.
Services are determined based on the results of the assessment and specifically designed to meet individual needs of the child. Our services are provided on a continuum. Children will receive the amount of services needed based on the results of the assessment, which includes parent input. The services range from Speech only services up to more intensive services in a school setting. If you are concerned your child may need services please contact our office secretary @ 661-723-0351 x 205.
