The Holidays are a time of celebration, unity, love, family, friends, culture, traditions, and remembrance. During the holidays, many of us spend time with the people we love and honor the traditions passed down by our ancestors. We eat delicious foods, listen and dance to beautiful music, as well as enjoy the best way we know how. The holidays ae celebrated in so many ways, and each family has their own way of doing so. We acknowledge that not all families celebrate the holidays, and are respectful of it.
This month, our intention is to introduce the traditions and celebrations of the holidays across the world, to help us learn more about them .

Tamales are a traditional Christmas dinner in Mexico. In Mexico, we make savory & spicy tamales. The tamale is made out of corn dough "masa," which is a corn mixture that is spread on a dry corn husk. It is then filled with a red sauce, spicy mole or with a cheese & green salsa or jalapeno/poblano chilies (rajas) filling. It's also very common to make sweet tamales in strawberry, pineapple flavors or sweet corn.
Pozole is a traditional Mexican soup made with red chili, somethings green, with hominy, and either chicken, pork or beef.

Pozole is usually topped with cabbage, onions, radishes, and accompanied with a corn tostada. This is also a traditional Christmas dish.
