Our Robotics teams wrapped up their season this past weekend. Our VorTech team led throughout most of the event but had some difficulty once their robot started to lose Wi-Fi signal. They finished just one spot away from qualifying for the state championship and earned the Reach Award along the way.
Our other rookie team, the Cyclones, improved tremendously from last year and finished in the middle of the pack this year.
3 of our own seniors will be featured on ABC27 NEWS on 3/12! Hassest Tesfaye-desalgn, Hana Rebek, and Amina Salim were interviewed recently for their work on The Witness Stones Projects as part of a Black History Month fauture.
Our students have been researching since last year in order to discover and tell the stories of individuals who deserve to be remembered.

Burning Glass is still accepting submissions until this Friday! Send your best writing, art, and photography to be featured in our school’s literary magazine. The theme this year is Greek Muses. They’re also producing a mini-magazine on Mental Health this year. So, you can submit for that as well. Click here to submit for your chance to have your work published.
The Kona Ice Truck will be here this Friday to help our Student Council raise money. Students can purchase from the truck from 10:30am-12:30pm outside the East cafeteria.
Our Extended Day Program is back! This is a great time to lock in and get those grades up before the end of the marking period. You can stay after school to get academic help on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. There are tutors ready to help you in various subjects. Join them in either I.M.C. from 3:15-4:30pm.
We all know that when you miss school, you miss out. McCaskey has a lot to offer, but you can’t take advantage of it if you’re not here. So, make sure you continue to prioritize being in school on time every day.
McCaskey’s Peer Mediation Program is here to provide peaceful problem-solving. Peer mediators can help with issues on social media, relationships that are dissolving, minor bullying, and personal confrontations. Staff and students can request a mediation by clicking here. A peer mediator will then reach out to schedule a meeting during period 2, 6/7, or 8 in the Mediation and Restorative Conference center in the East I.M.C.
