Welcome to Firefighter II, EMT-B, and Medical Terminology at Lampasas High School!
This exciting, career-focused program is designed for students who are passionate about public safety, emergency response, and healthcare. Throughout the year, you’ll build on your knowledge and hands-on skills in firefighting, emergency medical services, and the language of medicine—preparing you for real-world experience and certifications that can jump-start a career in fire service or healthcare.
In Firefighter II, you’ll advance your training in fire suppression, rescue techniques, hazardous materials response, and teamwork under pressure. This course builds on Firefighter I and aligns with professional standards used by fire departments across the country.
The EMT-Basic portion will introduce you to pre-hospital emergency care, from patient assessment to life-saving interventions. You’ll learn to think critically and act quickly in high-stress situations—skills essential for EMTs, paramedics, and other first responders.
In Medical Terminology, you’ll explore the language used by healthcare professionals to describe the human body, diseases, treatments, and procedures. This foundational knowledge is crucial whether you're headed for nursing, medicine, or any allied health field.
By the end of the year, students will be eligible to test for certifications and gain experience that can lead directly into careers or further education in emergency services or healthcare.
