TXPSTA State and Regional Competition Description
The Texas Public Safety Training Association (TXPSTA) State and Regional Competitions are annual events designed to showcase the knowledge, skills, and professionalism of high school students enrolled in public safety, law enforcement, fire, and emergency services training programs across Texas. These competitions give students the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities through practical and scenario-based events that reflect real-world emergency service tasks.
At the regional level, students compete locally to qualify for the state competition, where top performers from each region come together for a final round of high-stakes, hands-on events. Events typically include EMT scenarios, fire suppression drills, search and rescue, CPR and first aid challenges, obstacle courses, and leadership interviews.
These competitions not only foster teamwork and critical thinking but also build confidence and prepare students for careers in public safety. Winners often earn recognition, awards, and potential scholarship opportunities.
