Alongside they will be learning about foreshadowing, characterization, as well as the elements of storytelling
They will write an essay at the end of the book, and maybe even write their own story

At the end of the year, your students will have a big project that will ask them to research a person of their choosing and have a big presentation where they will pretend to be that person
They will also dress up as them!
7/8th Grade
English:
Currently, we are reading different pieces of folklore, myths, tall tales, and fables
They have started writing tall tales
T - Trickery
A - Adventures
L - Larger-than-Life personalities
E - Exaggeration
We will be focusing on where these stories come from, and why they were written/told
By end of November, we will begin to read The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank
Social Studies:
US History
We have just finished talking about the French and Indian War, and we will begin to talk about the lead up to the Revolution
By the end of the year we will talk about the Civil War
At the end of the year, your students will have a big project (they will work on this for the entire year) that will ask them to research a person of their choosing, and have a big presentation where they will pretend to be that person
They will also dress up as them!
