Back Injury and Lifting - This course tackles the costly problem of back injury by providing practical instruction on back injury prevention as well as a variety of safe lifting techniques. We also address the challenges faced by the aging workforce and behavior modification.

Office Ergonomics - Cumulative Trauma Disorders (CTDs) are a type of musculoskeletal disorder that affects the nerves, tendons, muscles, and supporting structures of the body. They’re often caused by repetitive motions, awkward postures, holding static positions for extended periods of time and contact stress while working. This course reviews techniques to improve posture, describes stretching exercises to reduce the chance of injury, and provides instruction on proper workspace arrangement including your chair, table, and computer terminal. It also discusses how to use ergonomic best practices if you’re working at home or on the go.
Classroom Safety - Whether you are a teacher, teacher’s aide, substitute teacher, or other staff member who works in the classroom, this basic course will help you deal with practical, everyday situations you face in the classroom and help you avoid injuries

De-Escalation Strategies - The goal of this course is to educate school staff in the proper use of de-escalation strategies in properly managing student behavior. Topics covered include the Conflict Cycle and preventative measures, the development of meaningful relationships, how to recognize signs of escalation, and de-escalation tips.
Disruptive Student Behavior - This course will help school staff members identify, understand, and manage the most common causes of disruptive behavior by students. Topics covered include the three categories of student misbehavior, the four categories of chronic student misbehavior, and the importance of analyzing the causes of chronic misbehavior and developing an effective intervention plan.
Effective Student Supervision - Supervision is the primary task of every school, and all adults who work there have a responsibility to supervise students. However, student supervision goes beyond just your school’s requirements. In fact, school employees have a legal responsibility to appropriately and adequately supervise their students. This course is designed to give an overview of effective student supervision. Topics covered include the types of supervision; considerations for different ages and abilities; the complexity of the supervisory environment; and best practices for effective supervision
Playground Supervision - This course gives an overview of the fundamentals of playground supervision. It will review a playground supervisor's responsibilities for active monitoring, the most common hazards on the playground and how to protect children from them, and procedures and policies.
Restraint and Seclusion - While children are learning to control their own behavior, they may need help from adults to prevent them from harming property, other people or even themselves. In this course, teachers and other school staff members will receive an overview on the use of restraint and seclusion to deal with emergency situations.

Electrical Safety - This course, which is designed for support staff working with electricity, addresses a wide variety of electrical safety issues in the work environment. The course will review accident and fatality statistics, key terms relating to electricity, "hot work", electrical safety, circuits and loads, and extension cord overloads.
Hand and Power Tool Safety - This course will provide employees with an understanding of the best practices for safely operating hand and power tools on the job. The course will review basic hand tool safety, guarding requirements for power tools, and safety requirements for power tools.
Heat Illness Prevention - This course is designed for any employee that may be exposed to conditions of excessive heat. The course reviews the causes of heat illness, the symptoms and effects of heat illness, how to minimize and treat heat illness on the job, and how to recognize and treat the more dangerous outcome of heat overexposure (heat stroke).
Ladder Safety - This course reviews one of the top work-loss issues: falls from a height due to inappropriate use of equipment (tables or chairs in place of a ladder). The course demonstrates the importance of using the proper equipment to work safely above the floor and reviews ladder safety basics, how to make safe choices, and ladder safety planning.
Playground Maintenance & Inspection - Playground Maintenance gives an overview of the fundamentals of preventing playground hazards. The course illustrates the most common hazards, as well as nationally-recognized standards for playground equipment. The course details important fall-surfacing criteria to minimize playground injury as well as proper use zones for playground equipment. Inspection checklists are also covered.
Utility Cart Safety - The goal of this course is to provide staff members with a general overview of utility cart operational rules and safety policies. Before employees operate a utility cart, they are required to know their employer's policies regarding utility cart usage and safety. Our course will review utility cart basics, general rules of safe operation, and safety procedures.

Food Safety and Kitchen Sanitation - This course will instruct employees in proper cleaning techniques and personal hygiene practices relating to kitchen sanitation and food safety. Common themes include personal hygiene, kitchen equipment, and kitchen surfaces.
Food Service Equipment: Safe Use - This course is designed to provide food service employees with information on use and care of standard commercial food service equipment. This course covers the importance of safe use and care of kitchen equipment, training on how to use individual kitchen equipment safely, the different types of kitchen equipment, common kitchen equipment misconceptions, and how to prevent injuries relating to use of kitchen equipment.
Food Service Equipment: Sanitation - This course is designed to provide food service employees with information about sanitation practices that will help keep the equipment in your kitchen safe from contamination. This course covers the benefits of clean and sanitary kitchen equipment, the proper way to clean and care for stainless steel surfaces in the kitchen, safely cleaning and storing kitchen knives, and sanitation procedures for each of the most common types of food service equipment found in cafeterias.

Behavior Basics for Students with Autism - This course provides a condensed review of behavior management basics for students with disabilities, especially those students with autism spectrum disorder. Its primary purpose is to help educational aides, paraprofessionals and other support staff understand some of the basic principles and interventions that relate to managing student behaviors. However, it can also be used by any educator as a refresher. It should be noted that while this course is focused on students with autism, many of the concepts are effective for all students, with or without disabilities.
Special Education Support Staff: Safety and Injury Prevention - As a special education support staff member, it’s important to learn the language of special education and use strategies that promote safety in the classroom. This course is designed to introduce the behavior cycle and the strategies used in special education classrooms to minimize and respond to negative behaviors.

The course will review tools to help your staff evaluate hazards, fall restraint strategies and systems, and fall arrest strategies and systems.
Fire Extinguisher Safety Basics - We see them hanging on the wall every day but most people know very little about fire extinguishers. Use this course to educate yourself and others on the fire triangle, the types of fires that can occur at home or in the workplace, and how and when to use a fire extinguisher. This course also describes when to evacuate and provides some proper maintenance tips for fire extinguishers.

Injury and Illness Prevention - This course has been designed for California personnel. All employees are required to understand their safety rights and responsibilities. The course will explore the common elements found in IIPP Plans as well as tell you how to access your workplace's specific plan.

Slips, Trips, and Falls - This course provides specific guidelines to help prevent slip, trip and fall injuries, best practices for walking on slippery surfaces, precautions to avoid trip hazards and safety policies that keep employees from taking fall risks.
Stress Management - This course will provide employees with information needed to manage and reduce stress. Common themes include understanding stress and its effects on you, ways to manage stress, and ways to stay ahead of stress.
Workplace Injury Prevention - This course provides an overview of simple strategies to avoid common workplace injury hazards. Primary themes include: back injury prevention; slip, trip and fall prevention; ergonomic injury avoidance; and safety during incidents of workplace violence.
