Dear Students and Families:
We are excited for the prospects of a new school year! We are also excited to announce that students who do not have a computer or internet at home will be eligible to receive low-cost technology through PCs for People.
All you have to do is go to www.pcsforpeople.org/ohio on your smartphone or call (216) 930-5741, provide some basic information and proof of Cuyahoga County school enrollment. We can be very flexible with what documentation is used – it just needs to include the school name and the student’s name. At that time, you will receive a number that indicates your spot on the waitlist to request a computer. The length of the wait will depend on how many people sign up. When it is your turn, you will receive an email notification telling you to officially place your order and where to pick it up. We will be following proper social distancing practices during pickup to maintain your safety.
If you need internet connectivity, you can choose to receive a mobile hotspot with unlimited data. This will last for 2 years and can be used for schoolwork or other reasons. If you need a computer for any of your children, you can select to receive a desktop or a laptop, as supplies last. This technology will be yours to keep.
Please sign-up as soon as possible, as the devices are available on a first-come, first-served basis. However, PCs for People will continue to work with partners in Cuyahoga County to obtain additional funding if the need exceeds the current supplies of devices.
Sincerely,
Bryan Mauk, Executive Director, PCs for People Ohio
