Building stronger skills, futures, and communities.
The world of work is rapidly changing and the more real-world experience students can gain, the better prepared they will be to help themselves and their employers navigate the ever-changing landscape. This is where partnerships between Lakeland and area businesses and organizations are vital to bridging the gap between classroom knowledge and practical workplace applications. Together we strengthen students' careers and futures and help local businesses and organizations meet operational goals.
Each year, junior and senior students have the opportunity to gain valuable experience while they also earn credit. LUHS offers state and local certifications through the following programs:
-Youth Apprenticeship - State Certification
-Employability Skills Cooperative - Local Certification
Freshman and sophomore students can begin preparing for this experience by being intentional in their course selections to become better prepared for employment, and maintaining strong attendance, behavior, and academic records.
