If you're ready to contribute to the success of young people in the Lakeland area while meeting your staffing needs, a partnership with LUHS work-based learning programs may be just what you are looking for!
Each year, junior and senior students have the opportunity to build professional and occupational skills that will strengthen their careers, their futures, and our communities while helping local businesses and organizations meet their operational goals. We are reaching out to share information about Lakeland Union High School's work-based learning programs and to invite you to participate.
The world of work is changing at a rapid pace and the more real-world experience students can gain, the better prepared they will be to help themselves and their employers to navigate the ever-changing landscape. This is where partnerships between Lakeland and area businesses and organizations are vital to bridging the gap between classroom knowledge and practical workplace applications.
There are several benefits to mentoring a student through a work-based learning (WBL) experience including:
Strengthening your industry workforce by cultivating potential in young people who are interested in building their careers.
Increasing your pool of potential permanent employees.
Cost-effective ways to fill entry-level positions to meet your operational needs while helping students gain essential skills.
Note: Students are paid employees of your business. There may be exceptions for educational or small, local-based non-profit organizations.
Community engagement and positive recognition through contributing to the career development and education of local students.
