Tech Help

Emailing helpdesk@lakeland272.org is the best way to ask for tech help if it isn’t something I can fix. You can always email me first or email help desk and me at the same time. Our tech department has been working hard to support us! Please type LOA and a short description of your problem in the subject line and your child's first and last name in the body of the email.

Hello!

How to Check Grades

How to Log into Skyward to Access Report Cards, check grades, and check for missing assignments

Please have your child check and show you how many missing assignments they have in Google Classroom. Pleas check their grades in Skyward. Let me know if your child needs any help or if you have any questions.

Schedule this week:

Normal Schedule Monday-Thursday. Thursday is our last day of Live classes. Friday is turn in day at the HUB 7748 Main St. Rathdrum from 8:30 - 11:30. More information in the LOA June Newsletter.

9:00 Class Meeting

We will be writing letters to our Senior (12th grade) Selves. We will also be working on our websites for our students led conference portfolios. We will add a little more data to our portfolios from the end of the year as well.

10:00 ELA

Black Beauty book projects were due last week. We will present them this week. Please make sure your child finishes their Social Studies Research paper if they need to finish that. A few students also need to finish their IStation.

Student who didn't present their Science Fair project last week, will do that this week during ELA as well. So if your child hasn't finished their science fair project, they should do that as soon as they can.

11:00 AM or 12:30 PM Math Live

We are working through the last two chapters of our Illustrative math text book. We will not have any more math tests this year, but students do have daily math quizzes, so it is important that they attend live class and complete those math assignments each day. Some student still need to finish their 6.6 Practice test or 6.6 test. A few need to finish their i-Ready as well. We had a larger math assignment Wednesday and Thursday last week, that some students still need to finish. If they missed class on Thursday, they will have to come to a make up session on Tuesday at 1:30. We will use our regular Google Meet link in our Google Classroom for that make up session.

After Live Classes Each Day

Students should continue working on school work for an hour or so each day after live classes are done. If they are missing a lot of assignments, they should work more than that.

Drop-in Office Hours

I have been offering lots of drop in office hours for help. So if you child is struggling, please have them check to see what time drop in office hours are that day. You or your child can also contact me to set up a different time for help.

Science Fair

Science Fair projects are due. Late ones should be turned by Tuesday at the latest. They students will have time to present still. Students have to tell me one thing they learned watching the presentations each day. Some students are forgetting to turn that in.

Friday

Friday is turn in day at the HUB 7748 Main St. Rathdrum from 8:30 - 11:30. Please bring chromebooks, chromebook chargers, hot spots, text books (Collections), novels (The Giver, Wrinkle in Time, and Journey to the Center of the Earth), and anything else you borrowed from the schools. (Even if you picked up things from your child's home school or got novels from LJHS, everything will be turned in at the HUB to keep it simple for you. We'll make sure everything gets back to the correct building.) Students will get a candy bar, snack, take home a goody bag, LOA Water bottle, and awards. There will be games to play and I will have a photo booth for 6th Grade Graduation kind of photos. No specific time or ceremony, but I wanted to have a time to say congratulations and a photo opp. Here is Mrs. Morrison’s newsletter for June with all kinds of good information: LOA June News. You can find this newsletter and other information at the LOA Website.

Last Week's Scavenger Hunt at the Hub

Thank you to those who came to the Hub for the Scavenger hunt and some social time on Friday.

Memory Book

If you have anything you would like to include anything in the Digital Memory Book for all the students to see, please use this Google Form to turn in pictures. You can include a baby picture, a picture from when they were younger, or a picture from this school year (a nice picture of them, a picture working at their chromebook, or a picture working on a project from this school year.) Please turn in pictures by Monday, June 7th at the latest. I will post the finished Memory Book in our Google Classroom on June 10th so students can download it. Students are working on a few pages to add as well. They should also be turning in anything they want included on Monday.

End of the Year Diagnostics

i-Ready

If your child hasn't finished: Log into Clever and click on the cube. They should only take the Math i-Ready. They should do their best, but don't stress. Remember they need to complete this without any help. It will get harder to see what they know and what they don't. There may be some things that they don't know. That is ok. They can take breaks. Some times it isn't available outside of normal school hours. So make sure they try to work on it between 9:00 and 4:00. Once they complete the diagnostic, they can work on missing i-Ready lessons.

IStation

If your child hasn't finished: Log into Clever and click on the super hero. If they are using their own computer, they may need to download the program. Have them contact me if they have a hard time getting into it. They should do their best, but don't stress. Remember they need to complete this without any help. There may be some things that they don't know. That is ok. They can take breaks. This one is usually available any time.
