Become a Tutor!

We are volunteer driven and community supported. If you can read and write fluently, you can help an adult to read, write and speak English better. We will provide the training to get you started, and ongoing tutor workshops to continue your own learning! We are a ProLiteracy organization and implement their training courses teaching the methods you need for helping adults to improve their own skills.

After the training, you are matched with one adult student. You meet 1 1/2 - 2 hours a week, morning, afternoon or weekend. We are currently growing our collection of materials, but there are materials and computer access for you to work with your student in the literacy center.

Qualifications:

• Flexibility
• Creativity
• Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently
• Time to meet weekly for 1 1/2 hrs to 2 hours
• Satisfactorily complete tutor training
• Interest in helping others
• Sense of humor(optional, but advised :) )
