Literacy for Little Ones

February 18 :Senior Computer Class this ongoing monthly program is part of our digital literacy program. This class helps seniors (65 yrs young) to gain computer & smartphone skills. As technology moves quickly ahead many seniors no longer in the work place are struggling to keep up. Join us each month as we teach, answer questions and gain familiarity from computer basics to current computer software. Our class has moved to TUESDAYs. We will now meet on the third Tuesday of each month at Lakeland Jr High School (15601 ID-41, Rathdrum, ID 83858 ) in the lab off the library. Park by the hawk and follow the signs! Attend each month or pop in as you wish!

February 19 :Tutor Training Orientation this one hour info session is dedicated to introducing interested community members to wonderful world of adult literacy volunteering! We will talk about adult literacy and the need in our community, explain how our program works, and answer any questions! We hope you can join us.

February 24 : Literacy For Little Ones is BACK! This ongoing, monthly program works with parents and their preschool-aged children to encourage early reading and participation in reading/learning activities. Statistics show that introducing babies and preschool age children to books is one of the most important factors in their later school success. We meet monthly at the District Office (15506 N Washington St, Rathdrum) to share a fun picture book and enjoy art activities that celebrate the learning we do that day. We meet on the 4th Monday of the month. See our calendar for the complete schedule. You may attend all or as many classes as you are able!

February 24 & 26, Mar 2 & 4, & Mar 9&10 : Volunteer Tutor Training Each in-person evening session is an hour and half long. We will spend the three weeks in shorter sessions. twice a week to complete our Proliteracy adult literacy training.
