Our Literacy Services are:
Learner Goal Oriented Our interest is in helping each learner meet their own personal goals for improving their basic skills. We are driven by what drives you! Improving reading skills to better read to grandchildren, support children in their learning, or improve skills needed in the workplace are a few of many goals shared. Learner-centered literacy supports adult learners in their major life roles as community members, workers, family members, and life-long learners.
Always Free to the Learner Instruction is always provided free to adult learners or participating family.
Respectful of Volunteer Involvement Volunteers are fundamental to the success of our literacy services. We honor their time and support.
Grounded in Literacy for Adults Adult outreach is the foundation of Lakeland Literacy Project because supporting adults is the critical first step in addressing the literacy needs of the entire family.
Dedicated to Empowering Adult Learners Service to adult learners encompasses more than tutor/learner instruction. We support the creation of member focused programming where learners can meet and learn from one another. Members are active members of the Lakeland Literacy Project
