Mrs. Sarah Keene is the school counselor for grades K-3rd. Many students know her as “the feelings teacher,” as she is passionate about helping kids work through emotions from a biblical perspective. In her 12th year as a school counselor at Lake Center, Mrs. Keene is looking forward to supporting students and parents alike for another great year!

Miss Aimee Hughes is the school counselor for grades 4-6 and will be teaching classroom guidance lessons to grade 3. This will be her 19th year in education and her third year at LCCS. As a school counselor, Ms. Hughes enjoys encouraging and supporting students as they seek to understand their identity in Christ and how they connect with others.
As a school counselors, we strive to encourage and support students as they seek to understand their identity in Christ and how they connect with others. In this role, we meet with students individually or in small groups. We also teach weekly classroom guidance lessons as well where we address various skills and strategies that support student learning, self-management, and social interactions. Each month I will share a preview of the specific topics we will be covering.
If a student would like to meet with a counselor, they can do so by -
Asking their teacher for permission to visit the counseling office,
Leaving a note in one of the counseling mailboxes, or
Students in grades 4-6 can message Miss Hughes through Clever
The school counselors are also here to support parents as well! If you have any questions or concerns regarding your child, please reach out at anytime through Parent Square or by calling our LCCS extensions.
