Meet the Counselor

Mrs. Quirk

Hello! My name is Heidi Quirk and I do feel like the luckiest counselor ever! Although I went to school in Placentia-Yorba Linda, my mom was a teacher in La Habra so I grew up helping her set up her classroom every summer and feeling a part of the community. After getting my educational degrees, I started as an Elementary Counselor in Newport Mesa Unified School District. After 5 years there, I began to work with my favorite age group (MIDDLE SCHOOL! WHOOP! WHOOP!) in Duarte Unified School District for 9 years. I was so blessed to get the opportunity to come back to La Habra in Fall 2017 and have LOVED working at Imperial Middle School. My husband is a Pastor at our church and we have a 13 year old daughter and 10 year old son. We love soccer, swimming, music, Marvel movies (DC, too!), traveling, our cat Oreo, and spending time as a family. Did I mention I love Middle Schoolers?!

School Counseling Interns/ Pasante de Consejería Escolar

Hi everyone! My name is Carina Ma and I am very excited to be a school counseling intern at Imperial Middle School. Born and raised in Southern California, I attended the University of California, Irvine where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and education. I am currently attending California State University, Long Beach to earn my master’s degree in school counseling and the Pupil Personnel Services Credential.

Some of my hobbies are listening to music, trying new recipes, and weight lifting at the gym. During my free time, I enjoy visiting local coffee stores. I absolutely love espresso drinks and making latte art! As a future school counselor, I hope to make a positive impact on student lives by helping them gain the skills necessary to reach their full potential. I will be at Imperial Middle School on Tuesday and Wednesday, so please come visit!
