May 1) May Day- A day honoring and celebrating the arrival of spring in the Northern Hemisphere. In some countries, it is also celebrated as Labor Day.
May 3) World Press Freedom Day- A worldwide holiday created by the United Nations recognizing "the value of freedom of expression."
May 5) Cinco de Mayo- A Mexican Holiday celebrating Mexico's victory over France in the Battle of Puebla.
May 9) Mother's Day - A day to recognize one of the most important people in our lives. Make sure you let your mom know how special she is to you today!
May 15) Armed Forces Day - Take this day to recognize and salute all the men and women fighting for our country. This day is also Police Officer Memorial Day, to recognize all the Police Officers who gave their lives protecting us.
May 16) Wear Purple for Peace Day - Wear purple today to encourage peace... and to encourage aliens to visit our planet!
May 28) Amnesty International Day - This day identifies the need to defend human rights internationally. By celebrating, you bring awareness and acknowledgment to human rights.
May 29) Learn About Composting Day - Today is the day to Go Green! Help the environment by learning about composting and making sure to do it all the time.
