ELAWC strives to help women and their families find esperanza or hope in their lives, and empowers them to attain a better quality of life that is without violence and safe for themselves and their children. Using a holistic and trauma informed approach, ELAWC delivers bilingual, culturally responsive services to over 30 communities.

Peace Over Violence is a non-profit, feminist; multicultural, volunteer organization dedicated to a building healthy relationships, families and communities free from sexual, domestic and interpersonal violence.

Downtown Women's Center Trauma Recovery
442 S. San Pedro St.Los Angeles, CA 90013(213) 680-0600The Trauma Recovery Center provides supportive services, outreach, emergency and healing interventions to victims/survivors and their families. They focus on responding to victimization from crimes and complex trauma from interpersonal violence including sexual and domestic violence, family and community violence, sex trafficking, intimate partner stalking and homelessness.
Services include:
Assistance with applying for Victim of Crime Compensation.
Referrals for emergency food, clothing, and shelter.
Legal advocacy, including assistance with temporary restraining orders, divorces, custody issues, and U-visas.
Accompaniment services to courts, police stations, hospitals, and other social services agencies.
Emergency response for sexual and domestic violence situations.
Individual counseling and support group counseling.
Trauma informed interventions including EMDR, Community Resiliency Model, yoga, expressive arts, music, empowerment self-defense, movement, and more.
Psychiatric and medical services.
Community and professional trainings on trauma, trauma informed care, homelessness, and prevention of sexual and domestic violence.
A 24-hour crisis line and drop-in day center.
All services are free and available in English, Spanish, and American Sign Language.
