The DOTS team coordinates the planning and delivery of transition services for all students with disabilities, beginning at age 14 (or younger, if appropriate) to prepare them for transition from school to adult living.
Transition Services Supports Students with Disabilities by Providing:
Lessons/activities on preparing for post-secondary education, employment, or independent living
Facilitating connections to local agencies that provide assistance in post-secondary life
Participation in work-based learning activities including volunteer work, assistance with obtaining competitive work, or paid training
Career and/or college awareness activities

Disability Rights California (DRC) is the agency designated under federal law to protect and advocate for the rights of Californians with disabilities.
They work in litigation, legal representation, advocacy services, investigations, public policy, and provide information, advice, referral, and community outreach.
For more than 40 years, DRC has worked to advance the rights of Californians with disabilities in education, employment, independence, health, and safety, and has grown into the largest disability rights organization in the nation.
AbilityFirst provides a variety of programs designed to help people with disabilities to achieve their personal best throughout their lives. Their person-centered programs are grounded in individual choice, autonomy and community participation.
They empower individuals with autism, cerebral palsy, Down Syndrome and other intellectual/developmental disabilities to discover what is important to them in their lives and develop the skills that are important for them to achieve their goals.
