The Los Angeles College Promise (LACP) serves first-time college students with a comprehensive strategy designed to support students to complete a higher education degree and/or a workforce certificate. The Los Angeles College Promise provides two years of free enrollment to all first-time, full-time students regardless of age, income, academic standing or immigration status. Your first step to free tuition is to complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the California Dream Act application.
Important aspects of the LACP are:
Waived tuition for two years of full-time college
Priority enrollment at any of LACCD's nine colleges
Dedicated support team providing a wide array of academic and student support services

Women In Nontraditional Employment Roles (WINTER) implements pre-apprenticeship training for disadvantaged women. We utilize a multi-trade curriculum to increase the number of women to be prepared to compete with the skills necessary to work in the construction and building trades. This initiative is designed to ensure that the program meets today's future hiring needs, of local industry, and registered apprenticeships, and to level the working field for women workers.
Graduates receive:
HAZWOPER UCLA-LOSH Certificate-(Industry recognized)
CAL OSHA Safety Certificate-(Industry recognized)
8-hour First Aid/CPR Red Cross Certificate-(Industry recognized)
120-hours of North America's Building Trades Unions multi-craft curriculum Certificate– (Industry recognized ) MC3
122-hours hands-on hand & power tools construction practicum
40-hours of workforce readiness training (Employment expectations, communication, financial literacy/budgeting, resume and cover letter writing, etc., etc.)
Life-skills training (Individual career plan, conflict resolution, sexual harassment prevention, how to access social services, Attitudes and Behaviors, Appearance, Self-Awareness, health etc., etc.
Assistance with Job Placement after graduation –connecting clients with prime contractors, submitting resumes, assisting clients with applications and paperwork, etc., etc.
3-5 years –Retention services –provide mentorship, retention and additional training if needed, job placement assistance when work ends on a worksite.
Requirements: Attend orientation, pass boot camp, be drug free, driver's license, HS Diploma/GED, right to work
