What is Resource Class?
Purpose:
To build a smaller learning community within Central
To establish positive and mutually respectful relationships with students
To monitor academic and social emotional progress and growth of students
To reduce the number of families that teachers need to connect with on a regular basis
To provide a time for students to engage in academic and career planning (ACP), social emotional learning (SEL), and academic progress monitoring
Teacher Expectations
Provide a structured environment for students that improves their connection to school
Facilitate School Connect SEL, and ACP lessons
Monitor grades and attendance of students in resource
Communicate regularly with resource students’ families about progress
Communicate with students’ teachers about ways to support their academic success
Provide opportunities and support for students to stay on track academically
Student Expectations
To attend, on time, every day
To participate in all resource activities
To use the time to work on homework, get organized, to study, to check in with teachers
To follow cell phone policy and other school expectations
