S-190 intro to wildland fire behavior

This is the first fundamental wildland fire behavior course in a five course sequence in the NWCG curriculum. It introduces students to the basic concepts of wildland fire behavior, including:
The primary wildland fire environment components; fuels, weather, and topography
How characteristics and interactions of fuels, weather and topography affect fire behavior;
How fire behavior affects risk to firefighters.

s-290 Intermediate Wildland Fire Behavior

This is the second course in a five course sequence developing wildland fire behavior prediction skills and knowledge. This course is required for those planning to work as a ENGB or Single Resources Boss in the wildland. It builds upon the basics in S-190, but with more detailed information about characteristics and interactions of the wildland fire environment (fuels, weather and topography) that affect wildland fire behavior for safety purposes
