2024.10.28 - 29 | 124th KUASS Symposium "Wildlife and Local Knowledge in Central Africa" was held at the Research Institute for Humanity and Nature (RIHN) and Kyoto University Center for African Area Studies (KU-CAAS). In addition to Fashloks members, we invited three researchers working in Central Africa (Dr Daniel Ingram, Dr Sandrine Gallois, Dr Graden Froese) to present and discuss research in wild meat and local knowledge.
2024.7.16 - 9.8 | Shun Hongo, Juanita Gomez, Marlon del Aguila Guerrero and Daisuke Muramatsu conducted fieldwork in Puerto Nariño, Colombia. On 4th September, the Colombian team held a meeting at the Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá.

2024.01.13 | The 7th workshop was held in collaboration with the "Kyoto University African Studies Seminar" (at The Center for African Studies, Kyoto University, and online),. Emmanuel Mvé Mebia, Naoki Matsuura and Shun Hongo spoke and discussed wildlife hunting and community development in Gabon.
We invited Emmanuel Mvé Mebia, a project member in the Gabon Group, to Japan. He visited Kyoto University, the National Institute for Humanity and Nature and the National Museum of Ethnology, where he interacted with many African researchers, including project members.
2023.12.19 - 2024.01.07 | Shun Hongo, Nahoko Tokuyama, Naoki Matsuura, Emmanuel Mvé Mebia, Etienne Akomo-Okoue and Saeko Terada conducted field surveys in Mivoul and Lopé, Gabon.
