Volunteer and give back!
Throughout the year, KSFA may come upon various opportunities to volunteer within our campus, community, and organization. If you are interested in participating in one of these volunteer opportunities, please fill out this Volunteer & Service Response Team contact sheet, and we will reach out to you when an opportunity arises. Mahalo for serving!
Mahalo for supporting our KSK Ho‘olaule‘a on Saturday, 2/24! Our Executive Board and Unit Reps manned the Scrip Booth in various shifts and were glad to see members volunteering their time to support our ATP!
KSFA is dedicated to maintaining a strong, transparent relationship with its members.
Our Executive Board will maintain a website that will be updated regularly to ensure members have access to current information.
We will also provide a regular newsletter, which will include valuable bargaining unit information and updates, as well as volunteer/engagement opportunities, to ensure members have access to information about issues affecting them.
We value our members and want to ensure each of you has the opportunity share your mana‘o.
We encourage covered employees such as regular teachers, counselors, behavioral health specialists, and librarians to become KSFA members. By becoming members, individuals will enjoy additional benefits.
Important definitions:
Covered employees: These are regular teachers, counselors, behavioral health specialists, and librarians as defined by KS.
Neither a defined term nor a temporary term employee is explicitly covered. (However, KSFA will support these employees as best we can.)
Members: These are covered employees who have completed KSFA dues authorization forms.
How can I ensure I am current with KSFA/IBEW membership dues?
The 2-step process follows:
1. Complete the online Authorization Form for Deduction of Union Dues/Service Fee Out of Wages. After you complete this online form, an electronic copy will be sent to you. No further action is required.
$15 will be deducted by KS from each pay period .
2. Complete IBEW registration forms. If you need a copy of these forms or have questions regarding completing them, please email Justin Puaoi at justin_puaoi@ibew.org.
Maintain a positive working relationship with leadership by advocating for both students and teachers, maintaining trust, and upholding a high standard of respect and professionalism.
