Class Opening Procedures

STARTING CLASS PROCEDURES 

The Flight Commander stand in the back of the classroom.  

As you enter the room cadets will assume the position of Parade Rest and wait for the Flight Sergeant to call the room to “ATTENTION” when appropriate.

Flight Sgt will command “Face the Flag  and Recite the Pledge of Allegiance”.  

All cadets will face the Flag of the United States.  (Personnel in uniform will remain standing at attention; those in civilian clothing will place their right hand over their heart.)  

When the pledge is finished, the Flight Sgt will face the Element Leaders and take role.

The Flight Sgt commands “Element Leaders, Report”.  The element leaders, in succession, will report the attendance for their element.

The element leader, salutes (and holds until the salute is returned) and says

Sir/Ma’am, (1st/2nd,3rd) element all present and/or accounted for.

 The Flight Sergeant then turns to the Flight Commander and reports the attendance. 

Flight Commander will then command “Recite Cadet Honor Code” followed by Air Force Core Values, and finally “JROTC Creed.” 

 Flight Commander will then place the flight at Parade Rest while he/she reads the "Information Board", then records attendance in the attendance book, then reports to the instructor.             

 

NOTE:  Talking or moving around during the pledge or roll call is a violation of discipline.
