Desert Hills maintains dress code standards for everyone. Clothing must be modest, must not be revealing, and cannot display vulgar, sexual, or drug/alcohol/tobacco references and/or pictures. Some guidelines for clothing are listed below.
All finger claws (regardless of the material they are made of) should not be worn to school as they are a safety issue.
Clothing should fit each individual keeping in mind:
Sagging pants or extremely oversized clothing is not to be worn.
Pants must be worn at the waistline.
Undergarments must be completely covered.
Shirt necklines may dip no lower in the front than even with the underarm.
Shirts must cover students’ midriffs at all times (standing, sitting, bending over, etc.).
With all clothing, we expect is that no undergarments or inappropriate body parts should be showing at any time (standing, sitting, bending over, etc.).
Hoods may not be worn, for safety purposes.
Bandanas of any kind or color are not allowed.
Spiked collars should not be worn to school as they are a safety issue.
Students who choose to dress inappropriately will be asked to change. If a student does not have appropriate clothes in which to change, parents will be contacted and arrangements will be made for the student to change into appropriate clothing.
