Class of 2024 Onelauʻena
Welcome NEW ALUMNI!! Class of 2024
Onelau'ena
Hiʻiakaikawaiola - healer in the water of life, initially a healer of the land after a lava flow. We have called upon and evoked mana from Lonomakaihe, Hīhīmanu A Kāne, Kanaloa and Kūkaʻohiʻa, all male energies, he mana kāne. In this inoa, a healer in the water of life -water representing transformation and waiwai - abundance for our people. Teaching ʻōpio to think metaphorically and encouraging the continuation of our moʻolelo, making personal connections. Wai as a connecting element, a resource to protect collectively. Kahawai can always reconnect into larger bodies of water, which gives life.
Hoʻomaikaʻi e Onelauʻena!
No longer just a number, this past Wednesday, our class of 2024 received their inoa as a class during their Aha Kapa Inoa. Offically, they are now and forever known as Onelauʻena. The name honors Kāne and is named after his homeland, which is believed to be a land of plenty. It represents the many diverse talents and moʻolelo of this class that come together to create a prosperous environment, that will continue to leave their mark on the world, and continue to grow together and bloom as a whole.
