Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi Kula Kiʻekiʻe ʻOhana Presence
At Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi Kula Kiʻekiʻe, our ʻOhana Presence approach is a comprehensive, five-prong program designed to engage families in meaningful and impactful ways. This program focuses on:
Understanding the shared responsibility of education
Recognizing how your engagement directly influences student success
Providing you with the knowledge and resources to support your student’s educational journey
Creating opportunities for families to actively participate in school activities
Celebrating and recognizing your student's accomplishments
As your ʻOhana Engagement Coordinator, my role is to serve as a liasion and advocate between Kamehameha Schools and our ʻohana, ensuring that every member of our community feels supported, informed, and connected. At Kamehameha Schools, we believe in the power of strong, active relationships between our kula and our students' ʻohana to foster student success and well-being.
Through various programs, events, and resources, I am dedicated to providing opportunities for families to engage in their child's educational journey, promote a strong sense of belonging on our campus and within our kaiāulu, and access important school and community resources.
I look forward to working closely with you and your ʻohana to ensure that our students thrive and reach their fullest potential at Kamehameha Schools. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or to learn more about how we can partner together for your child’s success.

Aloha e nā ʻohana o Kamehameha Hawaiʻi Kula Kiʻekiʻe,
As we close the first quarter of the school year, I mahalo you for your continued support and partnership in your child’s learning journey. The start of this year has been filled with growth, learning, and community connection. From daily classroom experiences to co-curricular opportunities, our haumāna have been challenged to stretch themselves academically, socially, and spiritually while embodying our E Ola! learner outcomes and our ‘Ōiwi Edge movement. We are proud of the resilience and commitment our students have shown as they navigate both successes and challenges in various opportunities on and off campus. We see their thinking and movement in athletics, band concerts, performing arts, projects, Lā Kauhale, and more as they engage themselves in various aspects of high school culture.
I welcome onboard our newest member to our Kula Kiʻeki’e – Mrs. Keala Campbell – who serves as our ‘Ohana Engagement coordinator replacing Mrs. Terri Lyn Saragosa who departed January 2025. Mrs. Campbell will serve as an important conduit of your voices to our kula ki’ekiʻe. She will work with you on engagement opportunities for our ‘ohana as they are planned and scheduled.
Looking ahead to the second quarter, we encourage haumāna to reflect on their first quarter accomplishments and set new goals to guide their learning. The second quarter is an opportunity to strengthen habits of mind, deepen cultural and academic engagement, and prepare for upcoming projects and assessments. ‘Ohana can support this process by talking with your keiki about what they are most proud of from this past quarter and what they would like to focus on improving as we move forward. Together, we can help our haumāna develop not only their knowledge and skills but also their sense of responsibility and self-direction.
As always, we are grateful for the strong ʻohana partnerships that support the success of every haumāna. Your encouragement, involvement, and aloha create the foundation for student growth and achievement. We look forward to the second quarter and the many opportunities ahead to celebrate the learning, accomplishments, and talents of our haumāna. Mahalo for walking alongside us in this important kuleana of nurturing the next generation of ‘ōiwi leaders for our lāhui and ‘āina.
Aloha a Mahalo!

We remain reflective of the work that we have done – working tirelessly but with intention and purpose upon the foundation of our people and our land. We work towards holding firm the importance of mo’okūʻauhau (genealogy), mō’aukala (history), ‘āina (land), ‘ōlelo (language), ‘ike kupuna (ancestral intelligence) and ‘ike hana (practices). We set our stance in both traditional and contemporary knowledge so our children, our people will be able to traverse upon their individual journeys through the on-going uncertainty of what awaits them. Mahalo to all of our ‘ohana for your strength and fortitude, pono and aloha… for your keiki and our school.
Aloha
Na’u ihola, na Kumu Lehua
