Located on the 1st floor of Keliʻimaikaʻi, the Learning Center (LC) provides a place for studying, reading, research, exploration, and hands-on creation.
Hours of operation: 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (12:45 pm on Wednesdays)
Resources & services:
Print resources – The LC provides a variety of resources to support the curriculum and promote reading. We offer a diverse collection of Hawaiian resources, newspapers, magazines, fiction, nonfiction, and reference materials.
Digital resources – Online database and ebooks can be accessed through the Learning Center link on the KMS website, https://sites.google.com/ksbe.edu/kmslc/online-resources
Innovation Lab-Students can use various materials and tools such as vinyl cutters, die-cut machines, and cardboard cutters for hands-on prototyping and projects.
Services – Students have access to AV equipment, Macintosh workstations, a scanner, printer, and copy machine.
Loan periods and circulation policy:
Books, reference, and periodicals may be borrowed for two weeks.
Overdue Notices:
Overdue notices will be sent out via email to the student. After two notices, items will be considered lost and the following amounts will be charged to the student account.
Replacement cost: (Includes a non-refundable $5.00 service charge.)
Paperback $10.00 + $5.00 = $15.00
Hardcover $25.00 + $5.00 = $30.00
Reference/Hawaiian Collection $50.00 + $5.00 = $55.00
