Before You Get Started on Your Application
Thank you for taking an interest in the MERIT 2018 Program, a year-long professional development program for teachers. MERIT starts with an all-day Saturday class in May and then really kicks off big with the ten-day summer institute, July 9-July 20, 2018. The fun and learning continues with follow-up sessions and other classes in the following academic year, September 2018 - March 2019.
Before starting your online application, you should download the .PDF copy of the application questions located at this link. Use it to review the questions before applying online. There are a series of open-ended questions in the application that require you to provide answers in 150 words (or less). We recommend working on your answers in a separate document and then carefully cutting and pasting them into the form before submitting. Most word processing applications will count the words for you.
The members of a previous cohort made some suggestions to you for completing your application that might be useful to you. And not to be outdone, MERIT 2011 added their own advice.
NOTE: Be aware you will not be able to save a partially submitted form in the Google Forms application; please be ready to answer all questions when you plan to sit down and complete your application. You are also required to have your principal complete a separate form supporting your application by the same due date/time.
Your completed application is due by 11:59pm on FEBRUARY 4, 2018, Sunday.
