Kimball Public Schools are committed to setting high expectations for learning with all stakeholders. Our teachers encourage every student to set their own NWEA goals for the spring test. We feel that getting the students involved in setting goals has impacted their scores in a positive way. We also offer lessons in a multiple of ways, so that are students are able to pick a more challenging assignment if they chose. John Baylor's 'On To College' and ACT Online Prep are also available to our students. A variety of classes that come from outside of the school are offered to expand our students education and to push them.
Our school board’s main focus is student learning. Many of their conversations are based on our scores and how students are learning in the classroom. All of our 2017 Board/District goals are centered on student learning. It is the center of our conversations at all levels. The board encourages the staff to continue their education by taking classes, attending inservices, and/or webinars. We encourage community involvement in most of our committees as we value their input.
The Kimball Prevention Coalition is an organization that consists of school administration, students, parents, and community members. The goal of this committee is to raise the expectations for all students and to encourage them to make healthy choices for their lives. This coalition takes a look at our student data including survey data and creates movements toward a better life for them which ultimately shows as improvement in their education.
Kimball Public Schools is a K-12 PBiS school. We set high expectations for our students as well as our staff. Every classroom as well as other areas of the school have expectations hung in them to help the students remember what is expected from them. When dealing with students, we look into positive reinforcement before we look into consequences.
