Welcome to Year 6

In Year 6 we have daily Reading, Literacy and Maths lessons. Across each term, we also study our foundation subjects which include History, Geography, Science, Computing, Art, Design and Technology, PSHE (Personal, Social, Health Education) and RE (Religious Education). These subjects are usually taught by the class teacher.

We are very lucky to have two specialist teachers in school, Mrs Nagle who teaches Music and Mr Kelley who teaches PE (Physical Education). Each class has one Music lesson and two PE lessons a week.

Be Healthy

Please ensure your child has a water bottle and fruit snack each day and that everything has their name and class clearly labelled on it.

Lunch time is at 12:30

School Pencil Case

Equipment: The school pencil case can be purchased for £5.50

Replacement pens are 50p each or the children can bring their own blue or black handwriting pens.

P.E.

The children will be participating in PE/Games. Please ensure your child arrives to school in a clean PE kit every MONDAY.

As the children are getting older, we would also recommend that they bring roll-on deodorant will them to use after PE lessons. Please no aerosol cans of deodorant as this can affect our children with asthma.

Following advice from Harrow, pupils should not wear any jewellery during P.E/Games lessons. Stud earrings/religious jewellery should be removed by pupils / parents before they attend school.

Online Resources

Your child should have used this reading resource last year and should continue with reading at least 2/3 books a week. Staff will be monitoring usage this year so please ensure your child has access to BugClub books regularly.

Use Wonde to access Timestable Rockstars and Spelling Shed

Special Educational Needs

If your child has special needs, Miss Fraser is very happy to meet with you. Please contact the office to make an appointment. We hope that you find this information useful when supporting your child with their studies .
