Infant Care: 6 weeks - 16 months
Our Ladybug (Infant) classroom caters to the youngest members of our community, from 6 weeks to 16 months old. With a room capacity of 16 infants and a ratio of 1:4, we ensure individualized attention and care. Our focus is on social and emotional development through play and baby sign language, fostering early communication skills. We aim to build early social, language, cognitive, and movement skills in a nurturing and safe environment.
Infant Room Activities
At Project Beginnings, our infant room is designed to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment that supports the CDC milestones for early development. Our dedicated caregivers engage infants in activities that promote fine and gross motor skills, sensory exploration, and early cognitive development. Utilizing the Learning Beyond Paper Curriculum by Procare, our daily activities include:
Fine Motor Activities: Infants engage with small blocks, rattles, and shape sorters to develop hand-eye coordination and dexterity.
Gross Motor Activities: We provide tummy time, assisted walking toys, and soft play areas to encourage movement such as crawling and standing.
Sensory Play: Infants explore various textures and sensory experiences through water mats and textured items.
Language Development: Daily reading sessions and singing songs help to promote early language skills. Basic sign language is introduced to support expressive language development.
