Brief Explanation
The Plastic Injection & Casting Lab is designed to provide students with hands-on experience in the field of polymer processing and manufacturing. This lab focuses on the production and testing of plastic materials and components, simulating real-world industrial processes.
Objectives
Understanding Polymer Processing: To familiarize students with the properties and behavior of polymers under different manufacturing processes.
Skill Development: To equip students with the technical skills required to operate advanced plastic manufacturing equipment.
Process Optimization: To study and optimize parameters for efficient and high-quality plastic production.
Innovative Applications: To encourage the exploration of innovative applications for plastics in various industries.
Lab Materials
In the Plastic Injection & Casting Lab, we are equipped with state-of-the-art machines essential for polymer processing and manufacturing. This includes a Compression Molding Machine, which is used to shape polymers under heat and pressure, and an Internal Mixer, designed for compounding and achieving uniform polymer blends. Additionally, the lab houses a Plastic Extrusion Machine for creating continuous profiles and sheets, and a Plastic Injection Machine for producing complex plastic components with high precision. To support material handling and further processing, a Pelletizer is also available, which transforms plastic into uniform pellets.
