Purpose of this laboratory
The DIP Laboratory also known as Digital Image Processing Laboratory is for students interested in Digital Image Processing and Machine Learning, providing a practical space to develop algorithms for analyzing images and building machine learning models. The lab is equipped with high-performance computers with graphics cards designed for image processing. The lab also supports projects in areas like facial recognition, medical imaging, and autonomous systems.
Laboratory Materials
Here are the equipment found in a Digital Image Processing (DIP) Laboratory and the purpose of each:
1. High-Performance Computers
To run resource-intensive image processing algorithms and machine learning models.
2. Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) / Graphics Cards
To accelerate image processing and machine learning computations.
3. Digital Cameras
To capture images for processing and experimentation.
4. Image Processing Software (MATLAB, OpenCV, etc.)
To develop and test image processing algorithms.
5. 3D Scanners
To capture 3D data for processing.
