Who? What? Where? When?

Choir meets outside of the school day.

It is very important that you attend every rehearsal, if possible.

If, for any reason, you miss a rehearsal; PLEASE bring a note that states why you were absent; a parent signature is required.

We perform for special events.

Any student in the 4th and 5th grade is welcome to join the Singing Lions Choir.

Time: Tuesday & Thursday mornings, 7:30-8:05

Performance Dates:

Family Fun MATH Night! Thursday, October 18, 2018, 6:00-7:30 PM

Holiday Sing-a-long: Thursday, December 20, 2018 at 8:45 AM (gym)

Second Semester Open House: Date: TBD (stage)

May POP Show: Thursday, May 23, 2018 at 7:00 PM (stage)

Requirements:

Absences:

Since choir is a group activity it is very important that all students attend every rehearsal and are on time.

If a student needs to miss due to illness, please send us a note when they return to school.

No more than 5 absences per 9 weeks.

TX UIL No Pass/No Play:

Because of UIL State rules – no pass no play – will be enforced.

Rehearsal & Performance Behavior:

Because rehearsal time will be limited, it is very important that student’s maintain appropriate behavior at all times.

Students are expected to exhibit exemplary behavior in rehearsals and performances.

What Do We Wear When We Perform?:

Honestly, it really depends on the performance.

Sometimes...We wear McDougle t-shirts with navy blue or black pants when we perform.

T-shirts are available for purchase in the front office.

Sometimes...We have "free dress."

Remember: Whatever we choose to wear - It MUST be School Appropriate!

KISD Men's Choir & Concert

Who? What? When? Where?

Our 5th Grade "Guys" will have the opportunity to perform with ALL of the KISD Choir Men.

Intermediate, High School and 5th grade "men" from every Klein Elementary school.

This is a great experience. This year, 10 of our "5th grade men" will be a part of this great tradition.

We will be performing "A Salute to our Armed Forces" & "They Gave All They Had."

The KISD Men's Choir Concert will take place in January, 2019. The exact date has not been set, yet.

The concert is at Champion Forest Baptist Church on Stuebner-Airline Road.

Auditions:

September 24th -October 19th, 2018

Rehearsals: TBD

Here is a list of our rehearsals. Your attendance is crucial.

If you’re at school,you must attend the rehearsal.

All rehearsals will take place in Mrs. Dudley’s room.

1. Tuesday,
2. Thursday, The Day of the Concert, : DO NOT GO HOME!

• We will rehearse after school.
• We will eat dinner in The Parent Center – and, hopefully, not make a mess!
• We will change clothes in the boys restroom.
• - We will put on our jeans, tennis shoes & our new Men’s Choir t-shirt.
• …Then, we’ll get on a bus & head out to the concert.

Please practice your music between rehearsals.

Remember: ALL CDs MUST BE RETURNED! The sheet music is yours to keep.
