Our first full month of school has been filled with excitement and growth! We've spent the month getting to know one another, setting up our classroom expectations, making new friends, and learning through play. The children have especially enjoyed our outdoor reading sessions, where they’ve been working on their listening skills, improving their attention span, and expanding their language abilities. The children were excited to receive a letter from Mr. Gruffalo, which was a captivating way to grab their attention before diving into the story!
In our Understanding the World sessions, we explored the roles of people in our community who help us. The children had the chance to visit Mr. Lee, our school director, and Ms. Claire, our school nurse, to learn about how they contribute to making our school a better place. We also celebrated several birthdays this month and experienced our first fire drill!

KG2 really enjoyed messy play and having a picnic in the field. The messy play reinforced their motor skills, and they experienced touching different textures. In the field, the children ran freely and happily, and they got a chance to watch the big girls' match.

In KG 3, we embarked on an exciting journey to learn about different occupations. One day, a mom who is an engineer visited our classroom to share insights about her job. The children were captivated as she explained how she designs bridges and buildings. Her passion for engineering was infectious, and the kids asked questions, showing genuine curiosity about what she does and how it impacts the community.
After that, the children excitedly talked about their own parents’ jobs. They shared stories about their parents being teachers, doctors, and artists, creating a lively discussion about the various roles people play in our lives.
In addition to the parent visit, we explored our school and engaged with non-teaching staff, including the school nurse, bus driver, receptionist, and carpenter. They took the time to explain their essential roles in ensuring the school runs smoothly and supports everyone’s needs. The children were fascinated to discover how many people work behind the scenes to create a nurturing learning environment.
These experiences not only taught the children the value of diverse jobs but also inspired them to dream big about their future possibilities. They realised that every job contributes to making the world a better place!
