Dear Parents and Guardians,
It’s been a very positive start to the year at KISU. Earlier this month, we elected a new PTA. We encourage all parents to take a look at their newsletter page above for more information and contact details. We’d love to see more parents getting involved! There are already two upcoming events:
Thursday, 3rd October: Meet the PTA (over a coffee).
Wednesday, October 16th: Kampala Uncovered: A PTA bus tour of Kampala's many sights
Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting a university fair, which was a great success. It was truly a joy to see our students actively engaged in discussions about their futures, demonstrating both curiosity and enthusiasm.
September has been a 'sporty’ month, with a variety of inter-house competitions and fixtures against other schools. Mr. Ramo has provided a detailed summary on the Sports page, so please do take a look.
Key Notices:
Ski Trip 2025: For anyone interested, there are still a few places available. Please contact me directly if you wish to join, but do so quickly as time is running out!
Secondary Parents: We strongly encourage you to send your child to school with their laptop or tablet, as the benefits to their learning are significant.
Mobile Phones: A gentle reminder that we do not permit students to bring their phones into school. Please remind them not to bring their phones into school, as we will confiscate them if they do.
Swimming Protocol: If your child is unable to swim due to medical reasons, please inform the school by calling us or sending a note with your child.
Wishing everyone a safe and relaxing half-term break. The school gates will close on Friday, 4th October, and will reopen at 7.30 am on Monday, 14th October.
Lastly, we’d like to wish Uganda and all our Ugandan families a very happy Independence Day on 9th October!
Regards,
Lee Wilson
School Director
