Learning Through Play.
Learning Through Play in Kindergarten 2.
In Kindergarten 2 we believe in the power of play to foster holistic development in young children. We create an environment rich in opportunities for exploration and discovery, both indoors and outdoors, ensuring that all Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) learning objectives are met.
Play is an essential part of childhood and serves as a vital vehicle for learning. Research has consistently shown that children learn best when they are engaged and motivated. Learning through play allows children to explore their interests and curiosities in a safe and supportive environment. Through play, children develop critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, and social competencies. They learn to establish positive relationships with peers, express emotions, and make choices, all fundamental skills for their lifelong learning journey.
Our classroom environment is designed to offer various areas of learning, each providing rich stimuli for different types of play. From creative arts and construction to sensory play and outdoor exploration, children are encouraged to engage in activities that align with EYFS objectives. For instance:
Physical Development: Through outdoor play, children can develop their gross and fine motor skills by climbing, running, and manipulating tools for various tasks.
Communication and Language: Interactive play areas, such as role-play zones, facilitate conversations and storytelling, allowing children to express their thoughts, ideas and emotions.
Personal, Social, and Emotional Development: Collaborative activities help children learn to share, negotiate, and resolve conflicts, which are pivotal for their social growth.
In Kindergarten 2; we are committed to providing a nurturing environment where children can explore and experiment freely.

Reception at the Fire Station! 🚒
This month, Reception learned all about occupations and the amazing people who help make our world a better place!
We were thrilled to have Ms. Clare, our school nurse, visit us and talk about how she provides first aid and takes care of everyone at school.
Then, we went on an exciting adventure to the Fire Station! The children were absolutely thrilled as they explored the control room and dormitory, enjoyed a ride in the fire engine, and even helped put out a real fire! 🔥Learning in Action!

Months of Celebrations!
This month, our Early Years students thoroughly enjoyed engaging in a variety of sensory activities. They dipped their hands in paint to create beautiful Ugandan flags and used pasta, lentils, chickpeas, and glitter to design colourful rangolis. It was wonderful to see how attentively they listened and thoughtfully reflected on what they learned. Well done to all the children . I am so proud of each one of you!

Messy and Fun Play
Weekend News in KG3
Weekend News is an exciting part of Monday morning in KG3. The children are usually very happy to share what they did over the weekend and who they played with.
This week, however, weekend news became all quiet as our children started to draw what they did during the two days they did not come to school. After drawing, each child gets an opportunity to sit with a teacher, and then their pictures are labelled with stories of how their time was spent.
This particular week, we did pencil drawings, all of us used a tri-grip pencil, and we were all encouraged to sit with a friend. This is a wonderful concentration activity, helping enhance a good posture at the table, and it offers invaluable one on one time to practice full sentences with a teacher. We are so proud of these tiny steps that our friends are taking.
