DIRECTOR'S MESSAGE
Dear Parents and Guardians,
October is coming to a close. This is the perfect opportunity to reflect on all that has been going on here at KISU
This month has given us the chance to recharge our batteries during the half term break. Hopefully this means everyone in the school will be energised to work hard all the way through to December.
Our 'Parent, Teacher Conferences' became 'Pupil, Parent, Teacher Conferences' Earlier this term. I was delighted to see we had an attendance rate of about 70% in secondary school which staff tell me is a huge increase on previous years.
The first part of the ISSAK season will be drawing to a close soon with many of our teams across the school still in contention to make it through to the finals.
The majority of our primary school students took part in their 'Outdoor Ed.' trips this month. It was a wonderful experience to welcome them all back with them sharing stories of the exciting things they had seen and done. As a school we covered a lot of ground in taking them to multiple destinations around this wonderful country.
The school was alive with dance, music, light and colour as our Indian community led the school in celebration of the festival of Diwali. The performances were spectacular and I felt a great sense of pride to be leading such a diverse, yet inclusive school. I also enjoyed my first 'Uganda Independence Day' celebration. It was wonderful to see students all dressing up in national colours to celebrate.
With several weeks left until the December break there is much hard work to be done. I trust every member of the community will play their part in making this a very successful year.
Mr. Michael Starkie
school Director
